HOW THE DRAW BOX SALES SYSTEM WORKS: In the event there is more than one interested buyer for any one particular painting, all the names for that one painting will be placed in a hat — and one name will be drawn at random. That person will be the buyer of the painting. We recommend entering your name into multiple paintings to better your chances. Be sure to give us your priority list in the event you are drawn multiple times (1,2,3 etc) or let us know you’d like to purchase all that you are drawn on. If you enter the draw you are obligated to purchase at least one of the paintings you enter for. *You do not need to be present to purchase. Sale by Draw Will Take Place July 24th.

-DEEP DESERT-
Solo Exhibition
Opening Reception July 16, 2022 6:00 - 8:00PM
Sale by Draw-box
Join us Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 6-8pm for the in-person opening reception of DEEP DESERT by Brett Allen Johnson. The artist will be in attendance.
In DEEP DESERT, Johnson explores the path less taken. Often times landscapes are as recognizable as a familiar face. Icons of the Southwest are visited by thousands every year, from all over the world. But some of the most interesting scenes are just beyond where the guidebooks lead you... "When I started painting this body of work, I wanted to put together a few paintings based on some of the more desolate areas I like, the stuff that's out of the way and overlooked - the deep desert," Johnson states.
By focusing on these lesser known areas, Johnson is able to set a scene different from most. Arid deserts mixed with the bright and interesting layers of a cliff that took millions of years to form -- most notably expressed in "Sulphur and Iron," a horizontal landscape with an other worldly feel.
Although this is a smaller show, the impact is felt in each work. About 10 paintings will be on display starting July 16, 2022. The online preview will be available in the next week. Questions: info@MaxwellAlexanderGallery.com or 213-275-1060
